Featured Fine Art Prints

If I were choosing prints for my own home (like I have any wall space left), these would be at the top of the list. These are the photographs I keep coming back to – chosen for their atmosphere, sense of place, and the way they bring a little of the natural world indoors.

Great egret, Caddo Lake, Texas

Great Egret & Spanish Moss

Caddo Lake, Texas

The Backstory: we approached this great egret perched high in a tunnel of bald cypress and Spanish moss. It allowed our boat to drift close enough for a few photographs before lifting gracefully away through the trees.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Echoes

Coastal Oregon

The Backstory: walking on the beach at Seal Rock felt almost magical that afternoon. Everything but the basalt cliffs seemed rather ephemeral, and this photograph reminds me of that feeling every time I see it.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Great grey at sunset

Great Gray at Sunset

Sax-Zim Bog, Minnesota

The Backstory: my first time seeing great gray owls, I had one all to myself for an amazing ten minutes. Watching it hunt – and occasionally lock eyes with me – made the entire trip to northern Minnesota worthwhile.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Tricolored Heron

Merritt Island, Florida

The Backstory: the morning was bright with fog and the water was still as glass. As it hunted, this heron almost looked like it was drifting through clouds.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Morning Fog

Caddo Lake, Texas

The Backstory: Caddo Lake, with its bald cypress and Spanish moss, had long been a bucket-list destination. The first morning of our workshop did not disappoint, with beautiful fog softly drifting across the water.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Apart

Coastal Oregon

The Backstory: Seal Rock is known for its dramatic basalt cliffs and seabird colonies. What caught my eye wasn’t the colony’s activity, but the single gull separating itself from the crowd.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Anhinga

Breeding Colors

Orlando Wetlands, Florida

The Backstory: I couldn’t stop looking at the electric blue skin around this breeding male anhinga’s eye. Set against the black feathers, it almost seemed to glow.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Sweet Creek Cascade

Coastal Oregon

The Backstory: Sweet Creek Falls Trail winds past a series of beautiful waterfalls, each with its own character. This one drew me in with its moss-covered rocks and fallen trees framing the cascade.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Roseate spoonbill

Roseate Spoonbill

St. Augustine, Florida

The Backstory: bright light isn’t always a disadvantage. Here, the white sky emphasized the spoonbill’s soft pink colors and graceful form.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Rabbitbrush

Northern Colorado

The Backstory: I wasn’t looking for rabbitbrush. I was following the light, and for a few minutes it turned this familiar Colorado scene into something pretty extraordinary.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Zen Fox Kit, Windsor, Colorado

Zen Fox Kit

Northern Colorado

The Backstory: I felt incredibly lucky to witness this moment of complete contentment. For a few quiet moments, this young fox simply sat in the early evening sun, soaking it all in.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Autumn Cypress

Caddo Lake, Texas

The Backstory: you can’t plan peak fall color months in advance, so finding a few brilliant cypress trees scattered across Caddo Lake really felt like a gift.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Fall colors at Caddo Lake
Soft Landing, Bernardo Wildlife Area, New Mexico

Soft Landing

New Mexico

The Backstory: I watched this Sandhill crane circle several times before finally committing to land. For a brief moment, everything came together – soft light and ideal positioning.

Available as canvas, metal or fine art paper prints in a variety of sizes.

Urban Coyote Pup

Fort Collins, Colorado

The Backstory: watching from a respectful distance, I was lucky to catch this quiet moment as the coyote pup sat at the entrance to its den.
